How to remove location (GPS) data from photos
CleanAILabel Team2 min read
A photo taken with your phone can carry the coordinates of where it was taken, accurate to a few metres.
Why it matters
When you share a photo taken at home — in a marketplace listing, a forum or a message — the coordinates can travel with it. Some platforms strip location on upload, but email, cloud links and many chat apps pass the file on untouched.
The easiest way to remove it
- Drop your photos into CleanAILabel.
- Location (GPS) is removed automatically with every setting; the report marks it as "Removed".
- Download the clean copy and share it. Your original file isn't changed.
For future photos
You can turn off location tagging in your phone's camera settings. Some apps also write location to other fields such as XMP, so checking before you share is still a good habit.
