We can't guarantee every platform drops its label: platforms may also use invisible watermarks and their own detection. Why?
How TikTok adds the label
TikTok was one of the first major platforms to read C2PA Content Credentials to automatically recognise AI content made elsewhere. If your image carries such a record, it can be marked "AI-generated".
TikTok also asks creators to label realistic AI content themselves, and it marks content made with its own AI effects separately.
Photo posts and carousels
Multi-photo posts (photo mode) are increasingly common on TikTok. Every image in a carousel has its own metadata, so batch processing helps here: clean up to 30 images at once and download them as a ZIP.
Which images can carry a C2PA record?
On TikTok, the answer to "why was this labelled?" usually lies in the tools the image passed through. Depending on the feature you use, these tools can add Content Credentials to the file:
- Adobe Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill and Express
- ChatGPT, DALL·E, Microsoft Designer and Bing Image Creator
- Phones with AI editing (e.g. photos edited with Galaxy AI, Pixel cameras with Content Credentials support)
- Some professional cameras with C2PA support — there the record documents the capture source, not AI
Limits
- Video isn't supported yet; the tool works with JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC photos.
- Signals added by TikTok's own effects, and your own "AI-generated" disclosure, are independent of the file.
- Removal of the label isn't guaranteed; TikTok's rules may require disclosure of realistic AI content.
Step by step
3 steps for a TikTok photo post
- 1
Pick your images
Drop every photo you'll use in the carousel into the area above in one go.
- 2
Clean the batch
On each card, check that the "C2PA" and AI rows say "Removed".
- 3
Download the ZIP and post
Use "Download all as ZIP", move the files to your phone and create a photo post on TikTok.
Honestly: we can't guarantee it
Clean AI Label removes the AI metadata inside the file. Platforms can still apply a label based on invisible watermarks (such as SynthID), their own detection models or your own disclosure. That's why we don't guarantee the label disappears — and some platforms require AI content to be disclosed under their rules.
