Instagram AI label remover

Drop your photo here before you post; we clean the signals Instagram reads for its "AI info" label right in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to any server.

We can't guarantee every platform drops its label: platforms may also use invisible watermarks and their own detection. Why?

What triggers Instagram's "AI info" label?

Meta looks for industry-standard signals that an image was made or edited with AI. The main ones are C2PA Content Credentials embedded in the file and the "digital source type" field in IPTC/XMP. When one of them is present, "AI info" can appear under the post or in its menu.

The label isn't limited to fully generated images. Small edits — a phone's AI eraser, Generative Fill in Photoshop or Lightroom's AI denoise — can write the same kind of information into the file.

What this tool cleans for Instagram

  • The C2PA / Content Credentials block
  • AI source type and "creator tool" fields in XMP and IPTC
  • Software name in EXIF (e.g. Adobe Firefly), serial numbers and the embedded thumbnail
  • Location (GPS) — always; camera details are kept if you want

What it can't clean

Invisible watermarks that Meta's own AI tools add, and the platform's own detection systems, are independent of metadata. If you switch on "Add AI label" while posting, the label will show anyway. So the result isn't guaranteed — and Meta's rules may require you to disclose realistic AI content.

Step by step

3 steps before you post to Instagram

  1. 1

    Drop the original file

Use the file you exported from your editing app, not a screenshot, and drop it in the area above.

  2. 2

    Check the report

Make sure the "C2PA" and "XMP" rows say "Removed"; if there was no AI trace, the report says so too.

  3. 3

    Post the clean copy

Upload the downloaded "-clean" file as a new post; editing an existing post won't remove its label.

Honestly: we can't guarantee it

Clean AI Label removes the AI metadata inside the file. Platforms can still apply a label based on invisible watermarks (such as SynthID), their own detection models or your own disclosure. That's why we don't guarantee the label disappears — and some platforms require AI content to be disclosed under their rules.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove the label from a post I've already shared?

No. Meta decides on the label at upload time. You need to share the cleaned file as a new post.

Does it work for Stories and Reels covers?

Yes. Clean the photo you'll use as a Story or Reels cover before uploading. Video isn't supported yet.

Do Instagram's own filters add a label?

Classic in-app filters and cropping generally don't add AI signals. Instagram's own AI editing features may add their own label, which is independent of your file.

Will my photo lose quality?

The image isn't re-compressed during cleaning; only metadata blocks are removed. Instagram still applies its own compression on upload.

Privacy

Your photos never leave this device.

Once the page has loaded, all processing happens in your browser. We have no image server, no database and no upload service.

  • No uploads

Images, file names and metadata are never sent to any server.

  • Measurement, but no image sharing

The Google tag is on the page, but visit statistics are only collected if you allow it. Our application code never passes your images or metadata to Google.

  • Check it yourself

In the Network tab you won't see any request carrying image data while you clean; any Google requests belong to analytics and ads only.

If you allow it, we collect visit statistics with Google Analytics and show interest-based ads with Google AdSense. If you reject, no measurement takes place and only non-personalised ads are shown. Your images and metadata are never sent to Google. Privacy policy
