How to remove metadata from Midjourney and Stable Diffusion images
CleanAILabel Team2 min read
Most image generators write your prompt and settings into the image they create. When you share the image, that goes with it.
What each tool writes
- Stable Diffusion (Automatic1111 and others): prompt, negative prompt, model and sampler settings in the PNG "parameters" text chunk.
- ComfyUI: the entire workflow in the "prompt" and "workflow" chunks.
- Midjourney and other online tools: details such as the tool name, description and job ID in XMP or EXIF fields.
- Adobe Firefly and Photoshop: the "digital source type" in XMP and a C2PA record.
Why you might remove it
Your prompt and workflow may be work you've invested in and don't want to share with every image. These fields also cause platforms to mark the image as AI content.
How to remove it
Just drop the image into CleanAILabel. PNG text chunks, XMP, EXIF and C2PA records are removed in your browser, with transparency and image quality preserved. The file format stays the same.
